Drivers warned of road closure in South Shields to allow for work on concrete bays
Drivers are being warned of disruption when a road is closed in South Shields.
South Tyneside Council is making an order for the temporary closure of River Drive from a point 40m west of its junction with Harbour View in a south-westerly direction for a distance of almost 200 metres.
The closure is due to take pace on June 6 and the road is expected to be closed for 15 days to enable South Tyneside Council to renew concrete bays in the highway.
An alternative route will be via River Drive, Sea Road, Ocean Road, Anderson Street North, Coston Drive, Mile End Road and Palatine Street and vice versa.
