The Ford Ranger had its best-ever year in 2019 in Europe and Ford sold over 16,000 pick-ups in the UK alone. With an RRP of £32,965 (excluding VAT), the Ranger Thunder is based on the Ranger Wildtrak series and Ford says it combines high specification, optimised load-hauling and tough four-wheel drive capability with ‘an edgier look’. Powered by Ford’s bi-turbo 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine and paired with the same 10-speed automatic transmission used across much of the Ford performance range, it’s the familiar Ranger recipe under the bonnet, but Ford hopes it will win fans with its distinctive appearance. Here’s a first look at the new special edition model.
