South Shields drivers warned of Harton House Road closure

South Tynside Council is planning to make an order for temporary traffic bans on Harton House Road South, South Shields – near it’s junction with Mitchell Gardens.

The order comes into effect on Thursday, June 17 and the road will be closed, as necessary, for up to 58 days from that date.

The closures will be to allow South Tyneside Council to renew concrete bays.

On days when a closure is required, an alternative route will be signposted via Harton House Roadd, Marsden Road and Sunderland Road, and vice versa.

Access will be maintained for residents where practicably possible.

Similar work has been taking place on River Drive, which began on June 6 and was expected to last up to 15 days.
