Christmas has arrived early in one South Shields street as neighbours are celebrating a four-figure lottery windfall each.

Four lucky residents of Lincoln Road all received £1,000 when their NE34 7JH postcode was announced as a daily prize winner with the People’s Postcode Lottery on Tuesday, December 22.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners, adding: ‘It’s an amazing surprise to receive at this time of year.

"Congratulations to our winners in South Shields. I’m sure they’ll enjoy spending the cash and treat themselves to something special."

The draw was promoted by the NSPCC children’s charity, which has already received more than £5.2million in funding from the lottery.

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players have raised more than £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
