5. New Plotter's Forest attraction, Raby Castle, County Durham
The new Plotter's Forest attraction opens at Raby Castle in County Durham on April 15. The adventure playground has been built amongst the towering trees within its Christmas Tree plantation. Young visitors will see special features throughout the site, which represent Raby Castle’s architectural history – including its entrance which has been built to honour the famous Neville Gateway, and Plotters’ Spire, a three-story tower with a top-floor slide and unusual pentagon shapes which have been used across the playground. 6. Easter activities, Adventure Valley, Brasside, County Durham
Adventure Valley in Brasside, County Durham, has plenty of seasonal activities across the holidays. Visit the spectacular undercover Easter Garden, follow the ‘Egg-cellent’ Bunny Adventure to earn a chocolate treat and meet the Easter Rabbit. 7. Arbuthnot and the Jarra Bunny, Jarrow Focus, April 19-22
Arbuthnot and the Jarra Bunny will be staged at Jarrow Focus from April 19-22. Arbuthnot is back ready to celebrate Easter with all of you! However he bumps into a girl called Symphony who has run out of Chocolate. Pilly Plonka has stolen all of the chocolate from Tyneside to sell and make a profit. Arbuthnot and Symphony must team up with the Jarra’ Bunny to take all the chocolate back and make Easter as brilliant as it can be. Join Arbuthnot and pals in this all new singing, dancing and laughing pantomime adventure. Every child will receive a gift from The Jarra’ Bunny at the end of the show. 8. Easter activities, Beamish, County Durham
Beamish has a host of Easter activities for visitors over the holidays, including egg jarping, egg decorating and egg rolling - and, of course, Good Friday fish and chips. As with all daytime events, you can use your Unlimited Pass or Friends of Beamish membership to enjoy this special event. From Wednesday, 30th March, no booking is required from 1pm onwards. Visitors will still need to pre-book for 10am, 11am and 12pm timeslots to help manage the flow of visitors through the entrance building during the busiest times, but from 30th March if you are visiting from 1pm onwards, you can just turn up and won’t need to pre-book (last admission is one hour before closing time).
