Food lovers in South Tyneside have been known to wait for over an hour to collect their battered goods on what is one of the busiest days of the year for local chippies.

With the social-distancing measures in place due to the outbreak of coronavirus, many establishments have closed.

But some chippies are offering a delivery service so people can keep up the tradition while staying safe at home.
