The Dockyard has ensured Covid-19 safety measures are in place in line with the Government’s guidelines.

To keep staff and customers safe, risk assessments have been carried out and seating has been positioned to maintain social distancing guidelines.

A one-way system will be in place and the rule limiting gatherings to either six people or two households will be enforced.

As well as the food vendors on offer, customers will also be able to order from the neighbouring Buddha Lounge’s Asian cuisine menu.

Buddha Lounge will reopen for indoor dining, in line with the next stage of lockdown restrictions being removed, on May 17, but will be offering takeaways from April 12.

Managing director Phill Brumwell, added: “This is a step closer to a full reopening in May and it’s great that, in the meantime, customers will be able to get their taste of Buddha Lounge when lockdown restrictions start to be lifted, either at The Dockyard or from our takeaway service.

“We’ve been working tirelessly to bring customers the look and taste of Asia across the Tyne.

"We’ve got a new menu for food and drink to highlight the favourites from our other branches, but also have new choices, which are only available from Buddha Lounge South Shields.”
