We’re launching our new South Shields takeaway by giving away hundreds of free meals
A new takeaway is set to open in South Shields.
Fiver Takeaway, based at Portberry House on Portberry Street, in South Shields, is set to open its doors to members of the public on Saturday, February 14.
To mark the grand opening, the takeaway will be giving away 200 free meals across the launch weekend, followed by a further 800 free meals throughout its first month of trading.
The takeaway has revealed that the first 100 customers will receive a complimentary smash burger and fries - with the same offer being repeated on Sunday, February 15, in the form of chicken burgers and fries.

Speaking ahead of opening, the owners said: “South Shields has always supported local businesses, and we wanted to launch Fiver Takeaway in a way that gives something back.
“Our aim is to offer high-quality food at affordable prices while creating a welcoming space for local residents.”
The new takeaway will serve a menu centred around smashed beef burgers, southern fried chicken, loaded fries, wings, wraps, hotdogs, vegan options and milkshakes.
Fiver Takeaway will be looking to put an emphasis on generous portions that are of consistent quality and value for money.
Doors will open at 12pm on Saturday, February 14 - with the free meals available on a first-come, first-served basis.
