Newton Retreat in Embleton is the gold winner in the category. It is in the perfect location for a quiet break. The lounge boasts comfy furniture opposite the kitchen area. The king-size double bedroom has an en-suite marble wet room and doors to a patio area overlooking the fields. There are plenty of areas for sitting outside when the weather is looking up. Manor House in Eastfield, near Warkworth won silver in the category. It is a very modern detached cottage with large patio areas and wood cladding based close to the Heritage Coast of Northumberland. The lounge area is modern but cosy with great views through five large windows looking across the countryside. The kitchen area also has a modern feel with high gloss two-tone units and plenty of space for cooking with the family. There's lots to do outside of the property. There is a brick built BBQ, table and seating area, paved entertainment area and three private patio areas around Manor House. The Turnip Barn has been converted from an ancient listed farm building at Witton Gilbert. It has lots of character and a classic look. The ground floor's large sitting room is warmed by a wood-burner making it perfect for the colder months. The timber pillars in the property give it a rustic and original feel. The staircase has magnificent wooden beams that reach the first floor of The Turnip Barn. All of the bedrooms come with their own luxury en-suite. They appear slightly more modern than the other rooms in the property.
