He’s the charity champion who’s charmed the North East with his fabulous frocks and relentless fundraising.
But now Colin Burgin-Plews has announced his retirement, with next year’s Great North Run set to be his last hurrah.
The 50-year-old has raised thousands of pounds for good causes in his five years of fundraising, but has decided it’s time to hang up his big pink dresses and spend time with his family.
A familiar face at the Great North Run, Sunderland 10k and half marathon, and other events across the country, Colin designs and makes his own incredible dresses to wear for the events.
After topping off this year with a Best of South Tyneside Award, the runner is dedicating his time to designing his next frock, in honour of those who have fought against cancer.
As we wait for the big reveal of his next creation, we’ve taken a look through an incredible five years with Colin - and some of his best outfits.
