Some of the country’s best cyclo-cross riders could be seen at Gypsies Green over the weekend (Saturday, January 10, and Sunday, January 11) as South Shields hosted the British Cycling Cyclo-Cross National Championships.
The two-day event saw competitors take on a 2.8km course, which saw them tackle a mix of terrains such as outdoor track, grass, sand, steep hill climbs and muddy drops.
South Shields Velo Cycling Club hosted the event where riders had to complete as many laps of the challenging course as they could during a specific time.
A big thanks to Nik Prowse and Olly Hassell/SWpix.com for sharing these photos with us.
