Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 19 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.

17. Roland
Roland is a super sweet and confident young boy who has settled straight in here at the shelter. He was totally unfazed by his arrival and quickly made friends with all of our staff and volunteers. He absolutely loves both human company and the company of other cats – often trying to play with our other residents under their doors in the cattery! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
18. Layla (French Bulldog)
Layla is a sweet and affectionate little lady who has a real playful and daft side! She’s been a pleasure to spend time with whilst at the shelter and quickly makes friends with everyone she meets! Layla does have some quirks which she will require ongoing training and management for. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
19. Squid (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross)
Squid is a million miles an hour dog, he always wants to be doing something and doing it quickly! He is a bright and active boy, boisterous at times, and ready to go at 100mph at all times. He can pull on lead and is quite strong so would benefit from a capable owner who can work on his lead skills. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
20. Goku
Goku is a sweet and sensitive boy who took a little while to adjust to the shelter environment. He is easily overwhelmed and so really struggled initially with all of the strange new noises and things around him. He spent a lot of time hiding away in his safe spaces and feeling very unsure of shelter staff. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
