Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.

21. Nala
Nala is a beautiful girl who has had a bit of a tough time lately. She previously came from a busy home with several children and another cat, which she found really stressful and she has had a hard time adjusting to the strange new shelter environment, too. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
22. Layla (French Bulldog)
Layla is a sweet and affectionate little lady who has a real playful and daft side! She’s been a pleasure to spend time with whilst at the shelter and quickly makes friends with everyone she meets! Layla does have some quirks which she will require ongoing training and management for. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
23. Squid (Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross)
Squid is a million miles an hour dog, he always wants to be doing something and doing it quickly! He is a bright and active boy, boisterous at times, and ready to go at 100mph at all times. He can pull on lead and is quite strong so would benefit from a capable owner who can work on his lead skills. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
24. McFlurry
McFlurry is a sweet boy who settled in quickly at the shelter. He is always happy to see his human friends and loves getting out of his pen for a cuddle! He’s a very food-oriented lad and loves his treats – particularly Dreamies or Lick-E-Lix! He enjoys sitting on your lap to be made a fuss of, but isn’t too keen on being picked up. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
