Adam Johnson trial: Girl bragged about sex claims, says friend

The England international has already admitted one count of sexual activity with a child and another of meeting a child following sexual grooming.

When questioned by Orlando Pownall QC, she said: "I told her that I didn't think it was right ... [she said] that she didn't care because he was a footballer."

She added: "She said she was going to keep talking to him and she kept saying how much money he made."

Sunderland had known about Adam Johnson's admissions for monthsThe teen also told the court that the complainant bragged about what had happened with the footballer after the incident became "less newsworthy" and told jokes.

She added the girl was "upset" when everyone found out, and she said she had advised her friend not to continue the contact.

"I told her that I thought she shouldn't text him and she said she didn't care about his girlfriend and she was still going to do it," she said.

When asked by Mr Pownall how her friend had seemed upon telling her about the alleged sexual activity, she replied: "Happy."
