Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 17 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.

5. Brenda (Olde Tyme Bulldog)
Brenda can be a shy girl, but once she’s got to know you, she is an absolute delight to spend time with. She will give so much love and affection to the people she is comfortable with! Brenda can be strong and a little silly at times so this will need to be a consideration for her potential new owners, but she always means well. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

6. Angelica (Cane Corso)
Angelica came into the shelter a very worried young lady and in significant amounts of pain due to a painful condition she had requiring surgery to both eyes. Because of this it took a little time to win her trust for a couple of members of the team and even longer for her to become comfortable around the rest of the team. However once she had her surgery and began to feel better she started to come out of her shell more and show those she trusted more of her sweet, affectionate and playful nature. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

7. Lola (Crossbreed)
Lola is a sweet girl who initially found the shelter environment a little overwhelming. Although she has now settled, she can still be a bit of an anxious girl and doesn’t particularly enjoy spending time in her kennel – she is always desperate to be out with her human friends! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

8. Duchess
Duchess is sweet but reserved girl who is easily startled but does like to have a little bit of a fuss on her own terms. She will tell you when she is unhappy being stroked or handled but she has never lashed out, just given us a little grumble! Duchess has lived in a quiet home previously, and wasn’t keen on visitors or children, so a quiet home would be best suited for this beautiful lady. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
