Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has a number of animals that are looking for their forever home.
The shelter, which was established in 1896, helps animals that are unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned - as well as reuniting lost animals with their owners and finding loving new homes for those who are no longer wanted.
Here are 17 cute animals who are in need of a home - you can find out more at: https://www.dogandcatshelter.com/.
Take a look and see if you can open your heart and home to a new four-legged friend!

13. Sky (Border Collie)
Sky is quite the typical Collie, she is energetic for an older lady and will play all day if you let her! When first meeting new people she can be quite anxious and will be looking for a home with experience of Collies and someone who has the time and patience to help her settle at her own pace. Staff have a very limited history of Sky, from her first owner when she was a young lady. At the time she was said to not be good with children and had displayed some resource guarding in the home. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

14. Lanya (Old Tyme Bulldog)
Lanya is a real sweetheart and a sensitive soul who can be shy when meeting new people, but is a real love bug once she is comfortable with you! Lanya has lots of energy and loves a game of fetch with a tennis ball, she would do this all day long if you let her! She would love a home with an active family who would enjoy playing with her to help burn off some of her contagious energy! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

15. Molly
Molly is a lovely girl who has spent some time in a foster home until she was ready for rehoming. Her foster carers have reported that she’s a very friendly girl, who likes to sit on the sofa with her humans and be made a fuss of. She is happy to go up to any visitors and say hello! | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter

16. Legolas (Crossbreed)
Legolas will require an experienced owner who has the time and patience to help train him and also be capable of managing his challenging behaviour from the moment he goes home as he will only get bigger and stronger. Whilst at the shelter, staff have seen some anxious traits, and lots of over arousal, which leads to a lot of jumping up and mouthy behaviours, all quite typical for a puppy. | Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter
