Andros Townsend reacts on Twitter to England snub
Andros Townsend has wished England all the best in Euro 16 after he was axed from the squad.
The Newcastle United winger missed out on a place in the final 23-man party after Roy Hodgson decided against taking him and Leicester’s Danny Drinkwater.
Townsend – who has been in great form since his £12million move to Tyneside from Spurs – was disappointed to have missed out on potentially playing in the tournament, but took to Twitter to say he hoped England could bring the trophy home from France.
He tweeted: “Obviously gutted to fall at the final hurdle but wishing the boys all the best of luck at Euro 2016 #ComeOnEngland”
