Artists encouraged to enter competition to have work shown in major gallery

A major gallery has given South Tyneside artists the chance to have their work shown.

People from across South Tyneside have been encouraged to enter a competition which could see their work shown in one of the North East’s most popular art galleries.

Gateshead’s Baltic Gallery has teamed up with Fenwick for an open submission project - the third of its kind - to show off the best of the North East across an exhibition including 100 works.

The call out is free to enter through the gallery’s website and is open to anyone from the North East.

Applications remain open until 10am on Tuesday, June 16.

Works will be reviewed by a panel including internationally renowned artists Laura Lancaster and Rachel Lancaster, Tees Valley Artist of the Year 2025 Will Hughes, and Baltic Assistant Curators Rose McMurray and Rosie Coleman Collier.

The full exhibition will open on Saturday, September 19.
