Adhruf Abdo, 22, of Flagg Court, South Shields, pleaded to assaulting a woman in Cardiff, on September 5, 2017. He was committed to prison for eight weeks, suspended for 12 months, and was told to carry out unpaid work for 200 hours in the community.

Stephen Michael Watson, 48, of Beach Road, South Shields, was found guilty of breaching a community protection notice on November 11, 2017, by being in possession of two open gas canisters. He was fined £250 and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and prosecution costs of £85.

George Robert Skelton, 42, of Cook Close, South Shields, pleaded guilty to stealing foodstuffs to the value of £8.10 from Lidl on July 31, 2017, and to assaulting a man on the same date. He was committed to prison for 14 weeks, suspended for 12 months. He was told to pay compensation of £100 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £115.

George Michael Bell, 66, of Belloc Avenue, South Shields, pleaded guilty to driving a Peugeot Active on Bronte Way, on January 3, with excess alcohol. He was fined £230 and was told to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £30 and prosecution costs of £85. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 15 months.

Mark Darren Seff, 40, of Pine Avenue, Harton Nook, South Shields, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a non-molestation order, on January 31, and February 21. He was committed to prison for 28 weeks.

Mark Thomas Fada, 22 of John Williamson Street, South Shields, pleaded guilty to damaging a front door to the value of £250, on January 8, and to possession of a quantity of amphetamine on February 8. He was told to pay compensation of £250 and prosecution costs of £85.
