Barman Iain is serving up a new business

Iain Anderson spent 15 years behind the bar, serving customers with their favourite beverage.

He went on to work in management – eventually making the leap from venues to a mobile bar business.

After working as an employee for a year, he decided to take a leap of faith and branch out on his own launching his company, Premier Bar Hire.

Mr Anderson, 33, said: I’ve always worked in bars, since I was 18, then I joined a mobile bar company.

“After about a year I gained the experience I needed, and just thought this is something I want to do.

“Since I launched the business, it is really starting to take off. I’ve already got bookings for the back end of the year.”

Mr Anderson is building up his business and is determined to provide the best service possible to those hiring his bar for their functions and events.

The mobile bar is suitable for all types of occasions, including garden parties, with different packages available.

He added: “When people hire the bar, I sit down with them and go through exactly what they want and their requirements.

“I have a number of different packages available, including some packages that come with free bar hire.

“It has been quite nerve-racking setting up the business, as you are out there on your own and there is no guarantee of bookings.

“But things have been going really well, and, hopefully, the more I get my name out there, the more interest it will generate.”

The bar comes complete with its own pumps and cooling system.

Glassware is also provided along with rubbish removal.

Mr Anderson said: “The mobile bar has everything a bar would have including wines, spirits and bottles – including champagne and prosecco.

The mobile bar is available for hire at venues and sites across the North East and North Yorkshire. Bartenders are also provided.

Mr Anderson was supported in his venture by TEDCO’s Allison Cowen and its New Enterprise Allowance programme.
