Members of the South Shields Volunteer Life Brigade (SSVLB) were alerted by the HM Coastguard’s base on Humberside while the Cullercoats RNLI Lifeboat team helped the casualty vessel with a tow back into the River Tyne.

They were asked to rendezvous at the boat moorings in River Drive for the callout, which happened just after 1pm today, Saturday, November 7.

They worked to assist their colleagues and help those who had been on the boat back onto dry land.
