Brothers accused of weapons attack on family in social club car park

Two brothers appeared in court accused of using weapons to attack members of another family.

Karl and Dean Thompson both face charges of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon and affray.

The charges stem for an alleged incident in the car park of a social club in Hebburn on November 13, South Northumbria Magostrates’ Court heard.

No pleas were taken from the men during the short hearing.

The bench sent the case to Newcastle Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on December 13.

Dean Thompson, 30 of Liffey Road, Hebburn, was remanded in custody.

Karl Thompson, 28, also of Liffey Road, was bailed on condition he lives at home, does not enter Finchale Road, Hebburn, and does not contact prosecution witnesses.
