Can't get over star's death
Still can't get over the passing of the wonderful Victoria Wood who died this April at the age of 62 after a short battle with cancer.
I can remember first seeing her playing the piano to her comic songs in the television talent show New Faces way back in 1974, before soaring to fame in the 1980s with An audience with Victoria Wood, then to the 1990s with her DinnerLadies and her soap opera Acorn Antiques that was based on Crossroads, which eventually turned into a West End musical.
The dear lady was made an OBE in 1997 and a CBE in 2008 . It’s believed after her death her team posted one of her best lines on Twitter: “Life’s not fair is it? Some of us drink champagne in the fast lane and some of us eat our sandwiches by the loose chippings on the A597.”
