Celebrating St Wilfrid's 40th anniversary
And in order to commemorate the occasion, I’ve selected a number of photographs taken at the school from over the years.
The first, to the right, shows budding actors from the school in rehearsal for a production of Blast Off, in July 1991. Did you take part in the show? Please get in touch and tell me all about it.

What can you tell me about the winning team?
Across the page (top picture), we have an image of a busy newsroom, when, back in May 1989, these youngsters produced their own French language newspaper, Escargot Nordique (Northern Snail). Why such a strange title?
Below left, these students were rustling up a tasty treat in 1987, when they produced a batch of waffles.
The young cooks are, left to right, Julie O’Neil, Joanne Gibbons and Mandy White. Apparently the girls sold the waffles to fellow pupils in order to raise funds for a worthy cause. Do you know how much they made and what the good cause was?

Did you help contribute towards the £500 raised for the Across Jumbulance Appeal?
Finally, below, is what appears to be a trophy-winning football team. Can you shed any light on the green and white-clad winners?
