Celebrities arrive to say goodbye to Denise Robertson

Famous faces have begun arriving in the North East for the funeral of Denise Robertson

The 83-year-old is being laid to rest today, with a service at Sunderland Minster at 1pm.

Thousands are expected to pay their respects today, among them some of the agony aunt's TV colleagues, including Phillip Schofield, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

Tweeting as he arrived in Wearside late last night, Mr Schofield said: "What a shame to be here under such sad circumstances, but I'm sure we'll give our Denise a fitting send off."

Ms Langsford tweeted this morning: "On our way to Sunderland to pay our final respects and say goodbye to this wonderful lady x"
