Changes to be made to how you recycle in South Tyneside - Everything you need to know

Recycling changes are coming to South Tyneside.

South Tyneside Council has announced that recycling waste in the borough is set to become easier in the new year.

Residents across South Tyneside will no longer need to use their recycling caddy from Monday, January 26.

The local authority has stated that the change is due to its new vehicles being able to collect all dry recyclables together.

This means that residents can put things like paper, card, plastic, tins and cans straight into their main recycling bin.

Members of the public are being encouraged to repurpose their caddy at home for things like Christmas decoration storage or toy/craft boxes.

Or it can be taken to South Tyneside’s Recycling Village if residents no longer need them.
