Charity looking for photos from public to help raise funds for calendar

A South Tyneside charity is looking for photographers to help them in a fundraising effort.

The Red Bench Project is asking for support from local snappers as they look to get enough images from the public for a charity calendar.

A total of nine benches currently sit along waterside regions of the UK, including five spots in South Tyneside to raise awareness of suicide.

Set up in 2023 by founder Wayne Groves, the Red Bench Project puts painted benches in spots identified as self harm ‘hot spots’.

After a successful fundraising campain through a charity calendar last year, the group are asking for photo submissions to contribute to a similar upcoming project.

Taking to social media, the charity said: “We need photos of our benches, as they help to show off the locations and raise awareness of what we do, after all, everyone loves a good picture.”

Photos can be sent to the project’s social media pages.
