Teams were called out shortly before 1am on Tuesday, March 23, to assist police in searching for a high risk missing person close to Marsden Grotto.
Coastguard officers split off into teams to conduct a search of the area.

The missing person was located in a vulnerable state and place into the care of police officers.
A Sunderland Coastguard spokesperson said: “The team were paged earlier this morning to assist Northumbria Police to search for a high risk missing person in the vicinity of Marsden Grotto.
“The casualty was quickly located by Coastguard Rescue Officers in a vulnerable state and returned to a place of safety and into the care of the police a short time later.”
