The local authority has confirmed that the regular Friday and Saturday markets will continue to operate as usual.

According to the Met Office forecasters, the borough will be hit with heavy rain right throughout Saturday as the borough looks set for a wet end to November.

Once the market gets underway on December 6, there will be plenty to get involved in over the course of the day, with organisers revealing a variety of activities on offer.

Given that it is a market, the event will feature a wide variety of independent traders selling all sorts of different goods.

Members of the public will have the chance to meet Santa and his elves, making it the perfect way to get into the festive mood.

Organisers have confirmed there will also be a choir performing on the day, a fairground ride and arts and crafts.
