Court round up: The latest cases at South Tyneside Magistrates' Court


Reece Convery, 19, of Abbey Drive, Jarrow, was given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £110 after admitting causing criminal damage to a communal bathroom door at Ridge House, South Shields, on Thursday, June 23.
He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

Hide AdKate Embleton, 24, of Dean Road, South Shields, was given an 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £96 after admitting three counts of joint theft from the BHS, Sports Direct and Select stores in South Shields on Saturday, June 11 and a separate theft from Debenhams, South Shields, on Wednesday, June 8.
She must also pay a £20 victim surcharge.
Lisa Scott, 28, of Dean Road, South Shields, was given an 18-month conditional discharge and must pay a £20 victim surcharge after admitting three shop thefts from BHS, Sports Direct and Select, all in South Shields, on Saturday, June 11.
Andrew Swan, 43, of Whitehouse Crescent, Gateshead, was given a six-month community order and fined £10 after admitting the attempted theft of a Samsung television valued at £299 from Asda, in North Road, Boldon Colliery, on Monday, March 28.
He was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

Hide AdJonathon Evans, 27, of Coston Drive, South Shields, was ordered to pay £45.98 in compensation after admitting stealing two packets of razors, a soreen loaf and a pack of yoghurts from Morrisons, in Ocean Road, South Shields, on Monday, June 6.
David Hamlani, 27, of Bamford Walk, South Shields, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and must pay a £20 victim surcharge after admitting being in possession of three bags of cocaine in South Tyneside on Sunday, July 20.
