Crash causes delays on A19 southbound

Northumbria Police and paramedics were called to the southbound carriageway between the A1231 Wessington Way and A183 Chester Road at 12.50pm after a report of a collision.

It is not yet clear how many vehicles are involved or if anyone has been injured.

Traffic North East has reported one vehicle is involved.

Highways England says it expects the road to clear between 2pm and 2.15pm, with one of three lanes currently closed.
