Here are 12 people jailed or given suspended sentences for offences in and arund South Tyneside last month.
They all pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court, unless otherwise stated.
9. Connor Womersley

10. Jack Bush and Peter Atkinson
Bush, 32, of Lamb Drive, Sheffield, and Atkinson, 40, of Taylor Grove, Wingate, County Durham, both admitted three charges of burglary and one of theft of a motor vehicle. 11. Ryan Batey
Batey, 18, of Byron Avenue, Boldon Colliery, pleaded guilty to charges of intentional strangulation, criminal damage, assault by beating and sending a message conveying false information at South Tyneside Magistrates Court. District Judge Zoe Passfield jailed him for 18 weeks for strangulation, eight weeks for assault and seven days for criminal damage, to run concurrently and suspended for 18 months and for four weeks for the communications offence, to run consecutively. Batey must complete 30 days of rehabilitation and the Building Better Relationships course, and pay £500 compensation. 12. Kaitlyn Crawford
Crawford, 26, of Quarry Road, Hebburn, admitted perverting the course of justice. Mr Recorder Goldberg QC sentenced her to 15 months imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, with rehabilitation requirements Photo: NOP
