Assault, speeding and burgling Shoe Zone - the latest South Shields court cases

The following cases from the South Shields area have been heard recently at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court:

Craig Whitehead, 35, of Eglesfield Road, South Shields, was ordered to undertake 170 hours of unpaid work as part of a community order and to pay £150 in compensation and £350 court costs after admitting breaching a restraining order on August 12.

Neil Daniel McKay, 50, of Clover Hill, Jarrow, received an 18-week jail term, which was suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay a £120 victim surcharge after he admitted burgling Shoe Zone between March 23-June 6 and possessing amphetamines on July 17.

Ryan Matthew Clayton, 38, of Rembrandt Avenue, South Shields, was ordered to pay a £40 fine, £50 compensation, a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting assault on November 17.

Sam Honeyman, 23, of Honeysuckle Avenue, South Shields, received three penalty points on his driving licence, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge after admitting speeding on the A184 Felling Bypass on November 4 last year.

Keith Ventress, 50, of Poplar Avenue, Whitburn, was banned from driving for 19 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting drink driving on October 25.

Anthony Scott, 71, of St Simon Street, South Shields, was fined £250 and ordered to pay £250 compensation and £250 costs after he was convicted of committing assault occasioning actual bodily harm on May 15.

Steven Puttock, 27, of Lord Nelson Street, South Shields, was placed on a community order, fined £80 and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 costs after admitting breaching a restraining order on November 29.
