CCTV appeal after South Shields burglary

Detectives investigating a burglary in South Shields have released pictures of a man they would like to identify.

Northumbria Police was contacted at around 4am on Sunday, June 21 by a member of the public who reported a man suspiciously in the Spohr Terrace area of the town.

It was discovered that a man had broken into another home on the street before he was disturbed by the occupant and made off empty-handed.

An investigation was launched into the incident, and as part of their ongoing inquiries, officers have identified a man they would like to trace.

A spokesperson said: “He was in the area at the time of the incident and could have valuable information that can assist officers with the investigation.”

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact police by ringing 101 or using the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the force website quoting log 263 210620.
