Criminal damage and drink driving - the latest South Tyneside court cases

The following cases from the South Tyneside area were heard recently at South Northumbria Magistrates’ Court, which sits at both South Shields and Sunderland:

Wednesday, 2nd September 2020, 7:00 am

James David Donnelly, 20, of Hedgeley Road, Hebburn, was fined £40 and ordered to pay a £34 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting using threatening or abusive words or behaviour on August 2.

Karl Palmer, 33, of Petrel Close, South Shields, received a community order, was fined £50 and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs after admitting causing criminal damage to a window on July 27.

Rebecca Hall, 35, of St Nicholas Way, Hebburn, received a community order, was banned from driving for 26 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on July 28.

The cases were heard recently by South Northumbria Magistrates' Court, which sits at South Shields, above, and Sunderland.

Peter Jones, 31, of Baltic Court, South Shields, was banned from driving for 20 months, fined £360 and ordered to pay a £36 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting drink driving on July 25.

Connor John Brown, 22, of Foxhomes, Jarrow, received a six-month conditional discharge and was ordered to pay £30 compensation, a £22 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting causing £30 criminal damage to a solar light on June 25.

Robert Ullah, 45, of Dean Road, South Shields, received nine penalty points, was fined £120 and ordered to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs after admitting careless driving on March 4.
