Delivery drivers could face £300 fine and six points on licence without right insurance
That's the warning from Northumbria Police as the force urges those working as delivery drivers to make sure they have the correct insurance.

On Tuesday just before 6pm officers stopped an Audi A5 in the Tweedmouth area. The driver was enroute to deliver a takeaway.
When questioned he insisted his insurance covered making deliveries but his insurance provider – who he rang in front of cops - said otherwise. He now faces six points and a £300 fine.
Road Safety Sergeant Jane Munro, of the Motor Patrols department, said: “With restaurants and shops closed there has been a big boom in the amount of people ordering takeaways and online deliveries, resulting in more people turning to a career as a self-employed delivery driver.

“Please don’t get caught out and make sure you understand what your policy does and does not cover.
“If you’re caught driving with invalid insurance you risk a fine, getting your car seized, points or even losing your licence.
"If you are unsure if your car insurance covers you then contact your provider to find out more."
