Here are 15 people jailed or given suspended sentences for offences in and around South Tyneside during March.
They were all sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court unless otherwise stated.

5. Michael McCann
McCann, 37, of no fixed address, admitted attempted robbery and was sentenced to 32 months behind bars. Photo: NOP
Hiscock, 33, of Ellison Street, Jarrow, admitted two charges of assault, one of common assault and dangerous driving and was sentenced to two years imprisonment, suspended for two years, with rehabilitation requirements, 120 hours unpaid work, a 12 month driving ban with extended test requirement and a five year restraining order Photo: NOP
Roberts, 70, of Greens Place, South Shields, admitted attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and attempting to meet a child after grooming. He was sentenced to two-and-a-half years behind bars and told he must register as a sex offender for life and abide by a sexual harm prevention order for ten years Photo: NOP
Ahmed, 22, of Marshall Wallis Road, South Shields, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and possession of cannabis and was sentenced to eight months behind bars, suspended for 21 months, with rehabilitation requirements.
