Magistrates said the charges were so serious that sentencing could only take place at a crown court.

Prosecutor Jonathan Hanratty said: “It’s charged as ‘make’ by virtue of the way computers work but he’s here because he’s charged in possession of images.

“This was fully admitted in interview. He has no previous convictions.

“It’s accepted that the images were viewed for sexual gratification.”

Joanne Gatens, defending, told the court a Probation Service Report would be required ahead of sentencing.

She added: “The defendant has no previous convictions.”

Magistrates said Scott would be sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court on Friday, September 11.

By law Scott must present himself to a police station and give a range of personal details within three days, it was said.
