Judge ordered arrest warrant as South Tyneside drugs case suspect believed to be in Spain

A drugs suspect living and working in Spain faces arrest after failing to appear in court in South Tyneside.

But it may require a European Arrest Warrant to get Jamie Alder, 24, of Swallowtail Court, South Shields, before court.

District Judge Sarah Griffiths issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to turn up at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.

Alder is accused of supplying Class A cocaine on October 16, 2017, but Judge Griffiths heard he is living and working overseas.

Judge Griffiths said: “He’ll need to get picked up when he returns to the UK, or they can apply for a European arrest warrant.”
