Latest South Tyneside 2019 crime hotspots revealed

Latest figures for reported crime across South Tyneside have been revealed.

The statistics cover April and are compiled from data released by the Home Office at www.police.uk. All addresses are in South Shields unless otherwise stated.

29 reports included nine violence and sexual offences (classed together).
29 incidents included 26 shoplifting reports.

22 reports included six anti-social behaviour cases.
21 reports included seven violence and sexual offences (classed together).
14 incidents included five anti-social behaviour cases.
14 reports included eight shoplifting cases.
13 reports included seven violence and sexual offences (classed together).
12 reports included five burglaries.
11 reports included seven shoplifting incidents.
11 reports included four anti-social behaviour incidents.
11 reports included four violence and sexual offences (classed together).
11 reports included three anti-social behaviour reports.
11 reports included three criminal damage and arson cases (classed together).
10 incidents included seven shoplifting reports.
10 reports included three criminal damage and arson incidents (classed together).
10 reports included eight shoplifting cases.
The overall number of crime incidents reported to police across South Tyneside in April 2019 was 1,823. The figure was 1,826 12 months earlier.
Numbers refer to investigations which are ongoing, concluded or discontinued. Incidents are said to have happened "on or near" named addresses.
