Man arrested after car crashes into house in South Shields: house on Dean Road caged off

The Dean Road incident was reported to police at around 6pm on Sunday, June 6.
Officers said no one was injured in the crash.
The area around the property in Dean Road could be seen caged off on the morning following the incident.

Hide AdNorthumbria Police confirmed officers had attended the scene on Sunday evening, and that a man was arrested after the collision.
An investigation into the incident has been launched and officers are keen to speak to any witnesses as they continue with enquiries.
“Shortly after 6pm yesterday (Sunday) we received a report of a collision on Dean Road in South Shields,” a Northumbria Police spokesperson said.
“It was reported that a car had collided with two other vehicles and a nearby house, which had resulted in structural damage to the external wall. Thankfully nobody was injured.

Hide Ad“Officers attended but found the suspect had already left the scene. A search of the area was carried out and a 45-year-old male was subsequently located and arrested on suspicion of driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit. He remains in custody at this time.
