Marshall Wallis Road incident: Man arrested after disturbance involving air weapon and knife in South Shields
Police were called to Marshall Wallis Road in South Shields at 8.45pm yesterday, Tuesday, July 7, after a report of a disturbance.
Officers attended and found two men, who are believed to be known to each other, inside an address with non-life threatening injuries consistent with having been caused by an air weapon and a bladed article.

Hide AdA 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the disorder and an air weapon and a knife were also located near the scene.


The force has launched an investigation into the incident and officers remain in the area today to carry out enquiries.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended and found two men inside an address who had non-life threatening injuries consistent with having been caused by an air weapon and a bladed article.
“A search of the area was carried out and a 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the disorder. He remains in police custody at this time.

Hide Ad“An air weapon and a knife were also located near the scene which are both believed to be associated with the disturbance.
“An investigation has been launched into the incident and officers remain in the area today to carry out enquiries. All those involved are believed to be known to each other and there is no wider risk to the public."
