Motorist charged with drink-driving after car crashes into roundabout in South Shields

A South Shields man has been charged with drink-driving after a car collided with a roundabout over the weekend.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said on Monday, October 12: “Shortly before 6.40pm yesterday (Sunday, October 11) we received a report that a car had been in collision with a roundabout on King George Road, South Shields.

“A 63-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with driving a motor vehicle when above the legal alcohol limit.
