Police appeal after woman allegedly sexually assaulted on Metro train

An investigation is under way after a female commuter was allegedly groped while travelling on the Metro – and police are appealing for help to find a man seen on CCTV in the train carriage.

Officers are appealing for the public’s help trace the man pictured following a report of a sexual assault on a Metro train, who police are keen to speak to.

The female commuter was allegedly groped over her clothing as she travelled on a Metro carriage

The man, who is described as white, around 6ft tall, wearing dark rectangle framed glasses, a black puffer style jacket and carrying a bag was seen on CCTV in the area at that time.

Police say he may be able to assist officers with their inquiries into the incident, which is being treated as sexual assault. Both of these images are of this same man.

Detective Inspector Alan Easdon is investigating, she said: “A number of enquiries have been carried out and we have identified this man who we need to speak to.

“He was on the Metro when this offence took place and could assist our investigation. Please, if you recognise him or, if this is you, please get in touch with us.”
