Police raid cannabis farm with more than 140 plants in Jarrow
Northumbria Police have raided a Jarrow cannabis farm.
Officers from Northumbria Police’s South Tyneside Neighbourhood Support Team raided an address on Bede Terrace, in Jarrow, last Saturday.
Police have revealed that they were acting on intelligence from members of the public and once they were inside the property, they discovered that four rooms had been converted into cannabis growing areas.

The Force has confirmed that 143 plants were discovered alongside growing equipment with a street value of £50,000.
Upon inspection, police also found that the electricity to the property had been bypassed, with the address deemed initially unsafe by Northumbria Police’s partners.

Police have since worked to dismantle the farm and recover the cannabis plants and equipment.

Officers have confirmed that the property was empty at the time of the raid and inquiries are ongoing to identify anyone who is believed to be involved in the cannabis farm.
