Sykes, 35, of Candlish Street, South Shields, is now beginning more than five months in jail after he admitted charges of driving while disqualified and without insurance when he appeared at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Craig Malcolm Sykes has been locked up after he was caught driving while disqualified in South Shields.
The court decided earlier this month to imprison him for a total of 21 weeks “because the offence was aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending”.
Sykes, who committed the offences on March 30, is also now banned from driving for four years and 70 days.
