South Shields and South Tyneside's latest crime hotspots revealed

The latest crime hotspots South Shields and South Tyneside have been revealed.

February's figures below are based on official records published by the Home Office on its police.uk website.

Twenty-five reports included 19 shoplifting incidents and three anti-social behaviour cases.
Twenty reported offences included 11 anti-social behaviour cases and three violence and sexual offences (classed together).
Eighteen reports included five shoplifting cases and four violence and sexual offences (classed together).
Fourteen offences included seven criminal damage and arson cases (classed together) and four anti-social behaviour cases.
Fourteen reports included seven shoplifting cases and two violence and sexual offences (classed together).
Twelve reported incidents included six violence and sexual offences (classed together) and two anti-social behaviour incidents.
Twelve offences included five anti-social behaviour incidents and three shoplifting incidents.
Eleven reports included seven cases of shoplifting and two anti-social behaviour incidents.

The number of reported incidents across South Tyneside's three policing neighbourhoods in February 2019 was 1,486. This compares to 1,589 in February 2018.
Statistics cover investigations which are ongoing, concluded or discontinued. Incidents are said to have happened "on or near" addresses.
