South Shields stabbing: Armed police spotted in town as man still fighting for his life after early-morning attack

Emergency services were called to Whiteleas Way in South Shields at around 3am on Monday following reports of an assault at an address in the street. The victim, a 24-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. A 28-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the assault and inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
