South Tyneside man admits to breaching a restraining order twice

Robert Thornton, 37, of Tynemouth Road, Jarrow, also pleaded guilty to causing harassment, alarm or distress and failing to comply with a post-sentence supervision order at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court.
Thornton breached the restraining order, imposed in 2015, on December 14 and January 8, and committed harassment, alarm or distress on Sunday, May 3.

Hide AdHe was made subject to a 28-day 7pm to 7am curfew for the post-sentence supervision order offence and is due back in court on the other matters on July 1.
Thornton was granted bail on condition he resides at Tynemouth Road, abides by a 7pm to 7am curfew, does not contact prosecution witnesses and does not enter an area bounded by the River Tyne, John Reid Road, Leam Lane and the A19.
