Theft from Wilko, Sainsbury’s and Asda – the latest cases heard in court round-up

The following cases were heard at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court:

Steven Corkin, 38, of The Royalty, Sunderland, was fined £40 after admitting breaching a community order.

Ian Parkin, 37, of Hudson Road, Sunderland, was fined £40 after admitting breaching a community order.

John Pearson, 42, of The Lawns, Easington Lane, was placed on a 20-day curfew and fined £150 after he admitted breaching a community order.

Jess Tasanaiam, 30, of Swan Lodge, Sunderland, admitted breaching a suspended sentence order. She had ten rehabilitation days added to her order and was told to pay £60 costs.

Kimberley Whitehead, 39, of St Cuthbert’s Terrace, Sunderland, was fined £60 when it was proven in her absence that she breached a community order.

Gavin Copp, 39, of Horsley Vale, South Shields, was fined £80 after admitting keeping an unlicensed car. He was ordered to pay £166.67 in back duty and £85 costs.

Anthony Martin Leadbeater, 50, of no fixed abode, Sunderland, admitted failing to notify police of a change in his address under the sexual offences order. He was fined £80 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Jordan Lee Martin, 25, of Edinburgh Road, Brockley Whins, was jailed for a total of 40 weeks. He pleaded guilty to six thefts from shops, including £300 worth of razer blades from Wilko, £120 worth of vodka from Sainsbury’s and a television valued at almost £400 from Asda. He also has to pay a surcharge of £122.

Brian Moss, 31, of Sherburn Grove, Burnside, Houghton, was fined £80 after admitting possession of amphetamine. He was told to pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Kieran Mothersdale Robinson, 26, of Rodin Avenue, White Leas, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and failing to surrender to custody. He was banned from driving for 14 months and fined £120. He also must pay £85 costs and a £32 surcharge.

Gurwinder Singh, 29, of Stanhope Road, South Shields, pleaded guilty to keeping an unlicensed car. He was fined £113 and ordered to pay £8.34 back duty and £85 costs.

Owen Thomas Haygarth, 18, of Broadmeadows, Washington, pleaded guilty to harassment, which was racially aggravated, and being drunk and disorderly. He was given an 18-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £90 surcharge.
